Derrick Road Dispersed Camping Area

Dispersed camping and day use area with access to the northern end of Sand Lake Recreation Area OHV area. Sites offer vault toilets and fire rings.  No water available.

Passes: A valid Recreation Pass is required for day use parking AND/or sand camping for each day (not night) you are camping on the sand. Recreation Passes that will cover the fee include: 
  • Daily Digital passes purchased online from Recreation.gov (Get it before you go!)
  • Annual Northwest Forest Passes
  • Interagency passes, such as Senior and Military passes

Directions:

Located 10 miles north of Pacific City, OR on County Road 871 ( Sandlake Road).  Travel 4 miles to the stop sign and turn right on County Road 871 ( Sandlake Road) for 1 mile and turn right on Galloway Road, then two miles to Derrick Road.
