This trail borders the picturesque Siltcoos River Estuary, and ends at the beach. The trail offers outstanding views of the lower estuary and the ocean beach. Look for signs marking snowy plover nesting habitat area in the estuary section of the trail from March 15 - September 15. You can still access the beach from the Waxmyrtle Trail by going around the closure area. See details in the current conditions information below.
Always use caution on the beach. Watch for sneaker waves, know the tide schedule and stay away from logs in the surf or on wet sand. Look out for deep water and strong currents.
