The Pines Campground is on a mixed conifer forested site adjacent to the Little Golden Forest Trail and near the Groveland Ranger District Office. The campground includes a large group site.

Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and a campfire pit with a grill. Vault toilets and potable water is available in the campground during summer.

Fees: American Land & Leisure operates The Pines Campground during the summer (typically May through September) and charges the following fees:
  • $25.00 for a single-family site and $125.00 for the group site (50 person capacity)
American Land & Leisure operates this campground under a special use permit administered by the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionaires finance the refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate.
Restrictions: Camp in designated sites only. The number of people allowed in a single campsite is 6. The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. Campfire permits are not required in developed campgrounds. Do not burn trash. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Often, locations destroyed by thoughtless campers must be closed to restore the area's natural health. Help ensure your favorite area remains open.
Closest Towns: Communities along Highway 120 with gas and groceries:
  • Groveland
  • Big Oak Flat
  • Buck Meadows
  • Yosemite Lakes
Additionally, Crane Flat Station in Yosemite National Park has gas and a convenience store. The nearest hospital is in Sonora.
Water: Water is not available during the winter season (Oct – April)
Restroom: Vault toilets are available in the campground. No RV dump station available.

Directions:

9 miles east of Groveland on Old Highway 120, just east of the Groveland District office.


Accessibility:

Several sites and water faucets are wheelchair accessible. However, restrooms are not wheelchair accessible.

Activities

Campground Camping

Tent and RV camping is permitted.

RV Camping

Recommended maximum RV/trailer length is 32 feet. No RV hookups available. The Pines Campground has drinking water, but filling of RVs is not allowed. The nearest fill up locations are in Groveland. The Pines Campground does not have a dump station.

Group Camping

The Pines Group Campsite is located at the southern end of the campground. The Group Campsite is not suitable for RV's or trailers.

During the summer season, American Land and Leisure operates the campground and manages reservations.The Group site can be reserved for up to 50 people for $90.00. A per day, per vehicle fee of $8.00 is charged for extra vehicles after the 10th vehicle. Reservations are available May through Labor Day weekend and can be made up to one year in advance and at least 4 days before your intended arrival. During the winter, the group campground is free and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no water or toilet paper available during the winter season.

Day Hiking

The Little Golden Forest Trail is adjacent to the Pines Campground.  The trail consists of a 1/2-mile interpretive loop and a longer two-mile loop.  Interpretive brochures are available at the Groveland Ranger District office, 1/2-mile west of the campground.
