Reservations: | First come, first serve. No reservations can be made for Sand Bar Flat Campground. |
Fees: | The Forest Service operates Sand Bar Flat Campground and charges the following fees: New campsite fee prices, 2024 & 2025 $20 per night for single site, $40 per night for double site; In 2026 fee raises to $25 per night for single site and $50 per night for double site. The America the Beautiful, Interagency Senior and Access Passes are honored and receive 50% off the nightly rate. Only applicable to the single site the pass holder occupies. Pass number must be written on fee envelope. The Interagency Annual and Volunteer passes do not provide any discounts on camping. |
Permit Info: | If you wish to use a stove, grill, or have a campfire it is recommended, but not required, that you get a campfire permit. This FREE Permit can be obtained at preventwildfiresca.org or at any ranger station. Do not burn plastic or metal. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. |

Restrictions: | Max length for RV/Trailers - 35ft. Road is NOT ADVISABLE for large RVs and trailers. The winding road is steep, narrow and is not paved past Fraser Flat Campground. Camp in designated sites only. The number of people permitted in a single campsite is six. The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. |

RV Camping
Forested site on the Middle Fork Stanislaus River. Beautiful fishing spot with accessible fishing bridge. Not advisable for Large R. V. 's or trailers. Road is steep, narrow and windy. Picnic tables, fire rings with grills and vault toilets.

Picnicking
Day use area is located on the northeast side of the campground near bridge. Two day use sites include tables, drinking water, restrooms and garbage service. Area is open 6 am to 9 pm daily. Not advisable for trailers or motor homes. Road is not paved, steep and narrow.
