Lakeshore Trail/ Inspiration Point Trailhead
Trailhead for the Lakeshore Trail and Inspiration Point Trail. The trail starts out on level ground as the Lakeshore Trail; in about .4 mile the Inspiration Point Trail branches off to the left and climbs steeply to the top of the ridge. The Lakeshore Trail continues to the Slick Rock Jeep Trail (Forest Service Road 7N17).

General Information
Directions:From the Calaveras Ranger District head east on Highway 4 for about 34 miles. Make a right when you see the sign for Lake Alpine East Shore; continue .2 miles, then turn right at the sign for Inspiration Point Trailhead and Pine Marten Campground. Go past the campground entrance and continue a short ways to the end; park alongside the road.
Accessible to all types of highway-legal vehicles; paved surface except for native surface at the very end.
