Campground is located in a timbered setting along the banks of the North Fork Mokelumne River, 2.4 miles west of Ebbetts Pass and four miles north of Highland Lakes. 20 campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills.

Current Conditions: Calaveras Ranger District (HWY 4) Campground is open. Due to extreme fire danger no ignition sources are allowed: no campfires, propane or gel fuel campstoves, no smoking. Please be self-reliant and bring your own soap, toilet tissue, and hand sanitizer, and drinking water, and be prepared to remain socially distant from others not in your group. Water is on.

Restrictions: Not recommended for trailers.
Closest Towns: Nearest gas, groceries, camping supplies are to the east in Bear Valley, Lake Alpine, or Markleeville (Alpine County). Arnold is 42 miles west and has larger stores and more services.
Water: Potable in summer season. Hand pump.
Restroom: Vault toilets
Passes: America the Beautiful Senior and Access passes and Golden Age and Golden Access passes accepted, reduces camping fee to half-price per night.

General Information

Directions:

Take Highway 4 to Highland Lakes Road; follow Highland Lakes Road one mile south to the campground. The turnoff from Highway 4 onto Highland Lakes Road is 47 miles from the Calaveras Ranger Station in Hathaway Pines, California.


General Notes:

No garbage service or dumpster; Pack it in, Pack it out.
