Jones Valley Inlet Shoreline Campground

The Jones Valley Inlet is open to shoreline camping during the operating season (Mar. 1 through May 30).  No camping June 1 - Feb. 28.  Camping on any area below the high water mark of Shasta Lake in the Jones Valley Cove is prohibited per Forest Order 14-58-32 between  November 1st and March 1st of any year.

There are no permanent facilities at Jones Valley Inlet area. Portable restrooms and trash receptacles are provided during the operating season.

During fire season, a valid California campfire permit is required for the use of campfires, charcoal fires, portable stoves using gas, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel.  During fire restrictions, wood or charcoal fires must be a least 50 feet from any vegetation and within 10 feet of the waters edge. The free campfire permits can be acquired at any Forest Service, CalFire or Bureau of Land Management office.

General Information

Directions: Located 9 miles east of Shasta lake City. From I-5, exit, 687. Turn right and follow Old Oregon trail for three miles. Turn left on to Bear Mountain Road and travel eight and a half miles to the junction of Dry Creek road. At the stop sign turn left and follow road about two miles to the facility.
