Glacier Pond 1

  

Glacier Pond 1 covers 17 acres and reaches a depth of 27 feet. Fishing can be done from the shore or by carrying a canoe down a steep bank to the lake. There are no campsites on this lake. Glacier Pond 1 is a designated trout lake and is managed for rainbow trout.

Lakes nearby include Glacier Pond 2, Ojibway Lake and Triangle Lake and Tofte Lake.

Parking is available along Forest Road 557.


Directions:

Glacial Pond 1 is located 14.5 miles northeast of Ely.

  • From Ely, take State Highway 169 (turns into Highway 18/Fernberg Road) northeast for 14.5 miles to Forest Road 1541/557.

  • Turn right for 0.2 miles to Glacier Pond 1.
