Whiteface Reservoir Campground

  

Sandy beach at Whiteface Campground

This campground is on the northern shore of the Whiteface Reservoir and is surrounded by a mix of aspen, spruce, balsam, and pine trees. The Whiteface Reservoir is popular for walleye fishing.

At a Glance

Current Conditions: Campground is in non-fee status for the winter. No fee required, no potable water, no garbage pick up. Campground is not plowed, snow may limit access to outhouses.
Reservations: Some sites are reservable through National Recreation Reservation Service's Whiteface Reservoir Campground page.

Restrictions: Maximum of 9 people per site. There is space for 1 vehicle and 1 towed vehicle (such as a boat trailer). Additional vehicles at the site require additional half fee and must park on the spur. No vehicles may park on the grass or where they impede traffic. ATVs not allowed.

General Information

Directions:

From Aurora

  • Take Cty Rd.100 south for 5 miles to Cty. Rd. 99.
  • Continue on Cty Rd. 99 for 6 miles to Cty. Rd. 16.
  • Turn Left on Cty Rd. 16 for 4.4 miles.
  • Turn right on UT Road 9236 for 3 miles to Whiteface.

From Two Harbors

  • Go north on Cty. Rd. 2 for 25 miles.
  • Turn left on Lake Cty. Rd. 15 (F.H.11) for 12 miles (Lake Cty. 15 becomes St. Louis Cty. 16).
  • Turn right on Forest Road 425 for 0.5 miles.
  • Turn left on Forest Road 778 for 1 mile.

General Notes:

This campground also has a picnic area, swimming beach, boat launch, 2 accessible fishing decks, playground area, 2 ½ miles of hiking trails and a small campground store.
