General Information

Directions:

Franklin Lake is located 26 miles northeast of Orr, MN.

  • From Orr, continue north on U.S. Hwy 53 to Cusson (4 miles).
  • Turn right onto St. Louis County 180. At Elephant Lake (11 miles), County 180 becomes Forest Rd 203 (slight right).
  • From Elephant Lake, continue on Forest Rd 203 for 11 miles to the trailhead on left-hand side of road.

General Notes:

Short portage to lake is open to ATVs.  There is a natural shoreline without a dock.


Parking:

Overnight parking allowed at trailhead. Parking area is on the right-hand side of Forest Road 203.
