Glacier Pond 2

  

Glacier Pond 2 is 6 acres in size and reaches a depth of 32 feet. It has 1 back country campsite located 20 rods from the road. Glacier Pond 2 is a designated trout lake and is managed for brook trout.

General Information

Directions:

Glacier Pond 2 is located 14.5 miles northeast of Ely.

  • From Ely, take State Highway 169 (turns into Highway 18/Fernberg Road) northeast for 14.5 miles to Forest Road 1541/557.

  • Turn right for 0.4 miles to Glacier Pond 2.

General Notes:

There is a carry down boat/canoe access just beyond the gate.

Trout stamps on fishing licenses are required. Please check the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources information for other trout lake regulations.


Parking:

Parking is available 300 feet before the gate.

There is 1 back country campsite on this lake. Trail access to the campsite is just before the gate.

Please use facilities provided such as fire rings, tent pads, and latrines and pack out garbage.
