Boca Campground is located on Boca Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, 15 minutes from Truckee, California. The campground is situated on a peninsula above the western shore of Boca Reservoir. Mature Jeffrey pine and fir trees provide some shade in this open campground overlooking the reservoir. The campground offers single family sites. Each site is equipped with picnic tables and fire ring. Firewood available at the campground at the host site. Accessible vault toilets. No water provided.
Most single family sites and group campgrounds can be reserved at www.recreation.govor (877) 444-6777.
Boca Reservoir is a popular location for boating, water skiing, swimming, wind surfing and fishing. A boat ramp is located less than a mile from the campground, but may be subject to closure during low water level. Heavy motorized watercraft use in the summer. The Little Truckee River is nearby and offers some of Northern California's best fly-fishing. Special restrictions apply. The surrounding area offers hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle trails. OHV Trail Access: Non-street legal OHVs must be trailered from the campground to the OHV trails. Close to the accessible historic Boca Townsite Interpretative Trail.
No camping or campfires allowed outside of developed campgrounds.
Directions: From Interstate 80, take the Hirschdale Road exit (exit 194) and proceed north on Hirschdale Road for 1.1 mile. Turn left onto Boca Dam Reservoir Road and proceed west, driving over the dam for 1.2 miles. The Boca campground is located on the right.
