Lakeside Campground

Lakeside Campground is located on the west shore of Prosser Reservoir, 10 minutes north of Truckee, CA. The campground offers single-family campsites. Some campground sites are shaded by pine and fir trees, other sites have full sun and are open. Some water's edge sites available depending on reservoir water level. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided. Many sites have a view of the reservoir and/or surrounding mountains. Firewood available at the campground at host site.

Prosser Reservoir is a popular location for canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming and fishing. Hand-off launching possible at Lakeside campground depending on reservoir water level. Power boating is allowed, but a 10-mph speed limit is enforced. A boat ramp is located less than a mile from the campground at Prosser Ranch Group Campground.Boat trailer parking available.Very popular Commemorative Overland Emigrant bike riding/hiking trail can be accessed by riding from campground.
Prosser OHV staging area is approximately two miles west, across Highway 89. Access to Prosser Hill Motorcycle trail, and Prosser Hill and Sagehen Hills OHV trail system. Access to designated OHV routes from campground. Respect other campers. OHV ingress and egress only.
No camping or campfires allowed outside of developed campgrounds.
Directions: From Truckee take Highway 89 North approximately four miles north of I-80. Look for Prosser Recreation Area sign on the right. Take a right onto paved road and campground entrance will be on the left in approximately one mile.
