Snag Lake Campground

Snag Lake Campground has 12 undesignated (first come, first serve) campsites with space for small trailer use- vault toilets and lake water source, purify before drinking. Most sites have views of the lake. 

This area offers an abundance of beautiful high mountain lakes with a variety of accessibility along with scenic rugged geological features of granitic ridges and glacially serrated rock outcroppings.

From Hwy 49 at Sierra City: Drive 4 1/2 miles to Bassett's Station. Turn left on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for roughly 6 miles to Snag Lake Campground.

From 89 N to 49 N: Drive 13 miles west to Bassett's Station. Turn right on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 5 miles to Snag Lake Campground.
