Camp host site with 5th wheel in campsite

Cottonwood Creek Campground is located on the seasonal Cottonwood Creek along Highway 89, four miles south of Sierraville.  Its location makes it a great base camp for a variety of recreational activities, including fishing, hunting, hiking and biking.  The campground sits back from the highway in a serene setting in a stand of Jeffrey pine, red and white fir trees.  The forest provides shade and privacy between sites, but occasional noise from the highway may be heard within the campground.  This facility is maintained and operated by the Sierraville Ranger District of the Tahoe National Forest.

The Cottonwood Creek Botanical Trail and Overlook Trail are both short, foot trails that begin in the campground.  The surrounding area offers additional trails and fishing opportunities.

Lake Tahoe is located about 40 minutes south from the campground. Tahoe offers excellent boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and scenic driving opportunities. Stampede Reservoir is a 45 minute drive southeast.   To the north, Sardine Lakes, within the beautiful Lakes Basin Area is a 35-minute drive of the campground.
