Boca Springs Campground

Boca Springs Campground is located one mile east of Boca Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, 15 minutes from Truckee, California. The campground is heavily forested with towering Jeffrey pine and fir trees. Boca Spring feeds a pretty meadow within the site. This campground is off the paved main road, but still within one mile of Boca Reservoir and the Little Truckee River. The campground offers single-family sites and one group site that can accommodate up to 25 people and eight vehicles. A few sites are available for equestrian use by reservation. Equestrian tie hitches and a trough on site. Picnic tables, campfire rings and grills are provided, as are accessible vault toilets and drinking water. Firewood available at the campground at the host site.

Boating, water skiing, swimming, wind surfing and fishing are popular activities. A boat ramp is located near Boca Campground on the southwest end of the reservoir, but may be subject to closure during low water levels. Heavy motorized watercraft use on Boca Reservoir in the summer. The Little Truckee River is nearby and offers some of Northern California's best fly-fishing. Special restrictions apply. Close to the accessible historic Boca Townsite Interpretative Trail. The surrounding area offers hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle trails. Access to designated OHV routes from campground. Respect other campers. OHV ingress and egress only.
Directions: From Truckee take Interstate 80 east for six miles to the Hirschdale exit. Go north and under I-80 for approximately one mile to Boca Reservoir. At Boca Dam continue north for approximately two miles and just before Boca Rest Campground is on your left, take a right onto the 72 Road and proceed approximately one mile to intersection. Stay to the left and you will arrive at campground in approximately 0.5 miles.

Information Center: | ALERT! Black bears have been frequenting the area. For your safety, keep a clean campsite, store food in a secure container, and dispose of trash properly. Generally normal services available: Memorial Day Weekend through September. May open sooner or stay open longer – weather dependent. No services during off-season. Pack it in, pack it out. |
General Information
Directions:Directions from Truckee: Travel east on I-80 for approximately 6 miles. Take Hirschdale exit. Turn left onto County Route #894. Travel approximately 2.5 miles north and when you reach Boca Rest campground, turn right onto the dirt road (Forest Route #72). Travel approximately 0.75 mile staying to the left and you will arrive at Boca Springs campground.
