Richards-Raven Equestrian Trail
The Richards-Raven Equestrian Trail is 19.5 miles of trail that meanders around Blackland prairies and various ages of pine plantations on the Sam Houston National Forest. The area is relatively flat with some wet areas. Bridges are conveniently located for easy creek crossings.
The trailhead is located at the intersection of Forest Service Road 209 and FM 1791 and is designed to accommodate several horse trailers. No restrooms are available at this site. Before visiting, please call the Ranger’s Office at 936-344-6205 or 888-361-6908 and for trail status.

General Information
Directions:From I-45, take FM 1375 west for approximately 14 miles, then turn north on FM 149 for about 1.5 miles. Turn north on FM 1791 and continue for about 4.5 miles, then turn west onto Forest Service Road 209. The trailhead is located at the intersection of Forest Service Road 209 and FM 1791.
