This recreation site was constructed in 1934 by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). Large juniper and sycamore trees provide shade.

Open Season: Year round
Restrictions: Use caution during rainy season. The area, like all desert creeks, is prone to flash flooding. Do not attach additional signs or messages to entrance signs. There is no drinking water.  Trailers over 16’ are not recommended.

General Information


The site is 19 miles north of Carefree. From Carefree, take Cave Creek Road/Forest Road (FR) 24 to Seven Springs Day-use Area. Continue for less than ½ mile to the turn-off to the Group Site. The last 9 miles of FR 24 is an all-weather gravel road that is narrow with blind curves.  View and download a map.
