This site is located on the Upper Salt River area and has five river access points. This site also offers dispersed camping for boaters using the access points.

Restrictions: Stay limit 14 day, trailers under 16', no motor boats allowed. Be sure to put into the river well dowstream from the dam. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RUN THE DAM.

Directions:

From Globe:  Take State Hwy. 188 west for 13 miles to Hwy. 288 junction. Turn right unto Hwy. 288 and continue for 4 miles to Forest Road (FR) 465. Turn left onto FR 465.

Viewing Wildlife

The diverse bird population and abundance of small and large mammals make this an excellent place to observe wildlife. Great blue heron and black-crowed night heron are permanent residents.
