Cholla Campground

Area Status: Open

Cholla Recreation Site is located on Theodore Roosevelt Lake, central Arizona’s largest lake. It offers expansive views of the Four Peaks Wilderness, Salome Canyon, and the Sierra Ancha mountain range. The campground contains an extensive selection of both RV and tent-only sites, and is one of the largest solar-powered campgrounds in the United States. Potable water, toilet buildings, showers, playgrounds, and a paved boat launch with a courtesy dock are available for campers. Cholla RV dump station, located across from Christmas Loop, is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.

Reservations:	First come, first serve for even numbered sites. Reservations can be arranged for odd numbered sites on Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777 or TDD line: 877-833-6777. Reservations are only available November 1st through April 30th.
Fees:	$25/site/night for individual camp unit; $50/site/night for double camp unit; America the Beautiful Interagency Senior or Access Pass holders receive 50% discount (persons over 62 or have a permanent disability) for single camp units only. Campground fees must be paid for at the fee machine located at the campground.

Restrictions:	Stay limit 14 days, trailers under 32'. Rules and regulations are posted on bulletin board. Please read and observe. Please use trash receptacles, or pack it in pack it out.

General Information

Directions:

This site is 5 miles north of Roosevelt Dam. From Mesa: Take State Hwy. 87/Beeline Highway north for about 60 miles to its junction with State Hwy. 188. Turn right and follow State Hwy. 188 south for 28 miles to the site.

From the Globe area: Take State Hwy. 188 north for 30 miles to its junction with State Hwy. 188. Continue on State Hwy. 188 across the bridge for 6 miles to the site.

Campground Camping

206 camp units (tent-only, single and double) with shade ramadas, fire rings with grills, picnic tables, and water hydrants.
Toilets and showers are located throughout the camp loops.
There are playgrounds.
Nearby is a paved boat launch ramp.
Maximum occupancy per individual camp unit is 10. Maximum occupancy per double camp unit is 20.
Maximum number of vehicles per individual camp unit is three. Maximum number of vehicles per double camp unit is six. All vehicles must completely fit within the designated parking area.
Check-in time is 12:00 pm, and check-out time is 10:00 am
