Several miles of hiking and horse riding trails are accessible from the site. Horses are allowed at this site, and can be ridden south on the Cottonwood Canyon Trail to access the Arizona Trail. There are 11 camp units w/ shade ramadas, fire rings w/ grills, picnic tables, potable water hydrants and a toilet building.

Reservations:
First come, first serve for even numbered sites. Reservations can be arranged for odd numbered sites on Recreation.gov or by calling 1 (877) 444-6777. Reservations are only available November 1st through April 30th.
Fees
$16/site/night for individual camp unit; America the Beautiful Interagency Senior or Access Pass holders receive 50% discount (persons over 62 or have a permanent disability) for single camp units only. Campground fees must be paid for at the fee machine located at Windy Hill.

Directions:
This site is 2 miles southeast of historic Roosevelt Dam. From Mesa: Take State Route (SR) 87 (Beeline Highway) north for about 60 miles to its junction with SR 188. Turn right onto SR 188 for 35 miles to the site. The entire route is paved.
From the Globe area: Take SR 188 north for 28 miles to the site. The entire route is paved.
