Workman Creek Falls. Excellent photography opportunities. Sierra Ancha Wilderness access. Historical and prehistoric sites. Aztec Peak Lookout. The Workman Creek area is the habitat for whitetail deer, bear, elk, turkey, javelina, mountain lion and many other animal species. No drinking water.

General Information

Directions:

The Creekside Day Use site is located on Forest Road 487 (FR 487). FR 487 is approximately 22 miles north of the junction of State Hwy 288 and State Hwy 188. Take Hwy 288 at the junction and continue north. From State Hwy 260, FR 487 is approximately 50 miles from the junction of State Hwy 260 and Forest Road 512 (Young Hwy). Take FR 512 at the junction.

At Young, FR 512 becomes State Hwy 288. Follow Hwy 288 to FR 487. The Creekside Day Use site is the first site on FR 487, approximately ¾ of a mile from the 288/487 turnoff. Beyond Creekside, FR 487 follows Workman Creek about ¾ of a mile to the Cascade Day Use site and continues along the creek to the Falls Campsite. The Aztec Peak Lookout Tower is about 2.5 miles beyond the Falls Recreation area. A high clearance vehicle is advised for travel above the Falls Recreation area. View and download a map.
