Rattlesnake Cove provides direct access to Bartlett Reservoir. Rattlesnake Cove has a sloping beach suitable for use in many water recreation activities. This area boasts of beautiful vistas of the desert with mountains in the background. The beach at Rattlesnake Cove is generally gently sloping with gradual change in water depths. Enjoy this primitive area with your friends and family by bringing your own grill and gear.

Restrictions: Stay limit 1 day, no motor boats allowed, day use only, and no trailers. The desert has little to offer as fuel for grilling, so bring your own charcoal wood. Picnic tables w/ grills, trash service, fishing dock. Glass containers prohibited.
Closest Towns: Cave Creek & Bartlett Marina (general store)

Restroom: Vault toilets equipped with grab bars.
Passes: Tonto Daily Pass and Watercraft sticker (for boats) or Tonto Discovery Pass are required. Tonto Daily Passes and watercraft sticker may be purchased at the fee machines located at the Cave Creek District Office, Bartlett Vista, or from a retail vendorAmerica the Beautiful Passes are accepted at the Picnicking Sites.

General Information


This site is 21 miles east of Carefree. From Carefree, take Cave Creek Road 7 miles, turn right on Bartlett Dam Road and continue for 12 ½ miles then turn left on FR 459. Travel ½ mile on FR 459 and turn right into the site. View and download a map.
