Big Creek Trail #3151
This 6.3 mile trail travels within North Fork John Day Wilderness near Big Creek. It runs southwest from Big Creek Meadows Campground and Trailhead off of Forest Service Road 52 to Oriental Creek Trailhead on Forest Service Road 5506 near Oriental Campground.

General Information
Directions:Big Creek Trailhead:
From the Ukiah, Oregon: Turn-off on Highway 395, travel south about 15 miles and turn left (east) onto Forest Service Road 55. Drive 13 miles east along the North Fork John Day River, passing Oriental Campground. Just after the campground, cross a cement bridge and the Big Creek Trailhead is on the right (south). The last 5 miles of road is not maintained for passenger cars. To access the wilderness, travel another 3 miles east on the washed out road and cross a wooden bridge.
Big Creek Meadows:
From Ukiah, Oregon: Travel east for about 23 miles on Forest Service Road 52 to the Forest Service Road 5226/5225 junction. Turn right (south) onto Forest Service Road 5225 and go a couple hundred yards, then turn right onto Forest Service Road 5225020. Follow this road about 0.5 miles to a bridge. Once across the bridge, turn left and travel a short distance to Big Creek Meadows Campground and Trailhead.
Accessibility:
This trailhead was originally located at the end of Forest Service Road 5506; however flood damage to the road in 2011 caused the trailhead to be moved just east of Oriental Creek. The current location has a parking area for 2-3 trucks w/trailers, as well as a toilet and interpretive sign located on the campground (west) side of the creek.
