South Winom Creek Trail #3153

South Winom Trailhead.

This 4-mile trail begins on the left side of Forest Service Road 52-440 spur after it crosses the bridge over Winom Creek near the Winom Creek Campground and ends at its junction with Big Creek Trail #3151 . The South Winom Creek Trail is located within the North Fork John Day Wilderness.

  • Weed-free feed is required for stock animals.

General Information


From Ukiah, OR, travel southeast on Forest Service Road 52 for approximately 23 miles to Forest Road 5200440. Turn right and travel 1 mile, passing the campground and crossing a bridge. 

Several hundred yards on the west side of the bridge is the South Winom Trail #3153 on the left and the North Winom Trail # 3160 on the right.  

Both trails are demarked by log posts used to restrict OHV access. There is limited parking near the trails, with additional trailhead parking in the campground.
