Tower Mountain Trail #3156
This 4.8 mile trail begins adjacent to the Tower Mountain Lookout on Forest Service Road 5226-200 and leads south into North Fork John Day Wilderness. The trail ends at Forest Road 52 adjacent to Big Creek Meadows Camp/Trailhead. Access to Big Creek Trail #3151 south of Forest Road 52 at Big Creek Meadows Camp/Trailhead.
Directions to Tower Mountain Trail north access: From Ukiah, OR take County Road 1475 /Forest Road 52 for about 23 miles. Then turn left onto Forest Road 5226 and follow for about 8.1 miles to trailhead on right. If you reach Tower Lookout, you have gone 0.2 miles too far north. Coordinates: 45.051, -118.57.
Directions to Big Creek Meadows, south access: From Ukiah, OR travel east for about 23 miles on Forest Road 52 to the Forest Road 5226/5225 junction. Turn right (south) onto Forest Road 5225 and go a couple hundred yards, then turn right onto Forest Road 5225020. Follow this road about 0.5 miles to a bridge. Once across the bridge, turn left and travel a short distance to the trailhead and campground.
