**This trail and trailhead were burned over during the 2015 Grizzly Bear Complex Fire. The Crooked Creek bridge was also severly damaged during the fire, requiring the bridge to be removed in the late fall of 2015. Crossing Crooked Creek during high water periods could be extremely dangerous. Please make alternate plans during high water periods. Trail rehabilitation efforts including the instalation of water bars, ditch cleaning, tread hardening and sign posting were completed before the snowfall and will resume is late spring.**
This trail begins at the Indian Corral (5600' elevation) area and ends at Wenaha River (2000' elevation) where it meets Wenaha River Trail #3106. Crooked Creek Trail is maintained for foot and horse traffic only since it is located within the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness. The 19 mile trail makes a gradual descend from Indian Corral to the Wenaha River following along first Trout Creek, then Third Creek, and finally Crooked Creek.
For those who have the time, this is a terrific trail to travel. It follows along 3 different creeks, thus the fishing opportunities are tremendous. There are many places available for camping along the route with an abundant supply of water for stock. Since the trail is only accessible by other trails, it allows seclusion to the traveler.
