Whitehorse Meadows Trail #1477

Area Status: Open

This trail travels within the northern portion of Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness. Meandering through open timber stands, across rocky hill sides and through lush meadows, this trail offers excellent views of large areas that show little of humankind's impacts.

Southeast from Whitehorse Meadows Trailhead, you will find short spur trails leading to Wolf and Fawn Lakes, which provide good camping spots. Water is also available at Whitehorse Meadows and Fish Creek Valley.

General Information


Whitehorse Meadows Trailhead, north access to Whitehorse Meadows Trail:

From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 east / northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Travel east to milepost 51.2 and turn south onto Forest Road 28 (Big Camas Road), at Copeland Creek. Continue for 13.7 miles and turn left onto Forest Road 2815-950. Go approximately 2 miles, the trailhead is on the east side of the road junction. 

South access:

From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 east / northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Head east on Highway 138 and turn south at milepost 61 onto Forest Road 37 (Fish Creek Road). Continue for 13 miles to Forest Road 3700-800 (Incense Cedar Loop Road). Turn right, go approximately 1.5 miles, turn left onto Forest Road 3700-900. The trailhead is at the end of the road, approximately 4 miles. Forest Road 3700-900 extends into the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness and is what is known as a "cherry stem" road.
