Shadow Falls Trail #1504

Area Status: Open
This area is Open

This triple-tiered waterfall on Cavitt Creek totals 100 feet. The creek works its way through a rock fracture, forming a narrow grotto. The trail starts out fairly flat until the last 0.2-mile where you descend to the viewing area for the falls. The forest changes from mature to old-growth trees with a lush understory. No sign of poison oak on this well-shaded trail. Wildflowers bloom in the spring and early summer along the trail. Expect fairly low volume of water over the falls in the summer. Trail may be muddy in the wet season. The trail begins near a parking area for 4-6 vehicles; vault toilet located at the trailhead.
