This trail winds through high mountain meadows and an old-growth Shasta fir forest. A short cross-country jaunt will lead you to Wild Rose Point with an excellent view of the Steamboat drainage and Illahee Rock Lookout. The south end of this trail ends close to Illahee Lookout Trail #1539.

Directions:

From Roseburg OR, take OR-138 east / northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard to milepost 47.5 to turn left (north) onto Forest Road 4760. Take Forest Road 4760 for 6 miles to Forest Road 4760-100. Proceed 1 mile on Forest Road 4760-100 to the trailhead. You'll come to a fork for Forest Road 4760-100 and Forest Road 4760-105. Keep left for Forest Road 4760-100 and the trail will be on your right after the fork.
