Thielsen View Campground
Few other sites in the Umpqua National Forest offer so much concentrated natural splendor. Visitors can simultaneously bask in the shadow of Mount Bailey and get an unforgettable view of Mount Thielsen from across Diamond Lake. Like its sister site across the lake, Thielsen View Campground is a perennial favorite among anglers.

- The rim of Crater Lake National Park is 30 minutes from Diamond Lake
Diamond Lake is situated in the Oregon Cascades National Recreation Area, which also includes Diamond Lake, and includes dozens of trailheads. Many trails leading from this area cross into wilderness areas or even nearby Crater Lake National Park, both of which have special use restrictions for visitors inside the boundaries. Be aware and plan ahead if your hiking, hunting, or mountain biking trip is likely to take you more than a few miles from the trailhead.
Directions:
From Roseburg, OR, travel east on OR-138 / Diamond Lake Boulevard for 80 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 4795 at the sign for the Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Turn right at the gas station and continue for 3 miles, the campground is on the left.
From Klamath Falls, OR, or Bend, OR, use Highway 97
From Medford, OR, use Highway 230

Campground Camping
Hiking, fishing, boating, bicycling and picnicking
- Numerous hiking trails, including: 0.8 mile self-guided nature trail; Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail; Mt Thielsen Trail; Mt. Thielsen Trail #1456; and Mt. Bailey Trail #1451.
- There are 11 miles of paved bicycle/hiker trail surrounding Diamond Lake.
- Lake fishing for Rainbow trout. The lake is stocked annually with over 450,000 fingerling.
- There are 3 campgrounds with 219 sites fully accessible and 5 fully accessible restrooms.
Lake and Pond Fishing
Anglers can pursue a variety of trout species in Diamond Lake. Check the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's web site for the most up-to-date information about seasons and stocking schedules.
Day Hiking
Numerous hiking trails are accessible from Diamond Lake Campground. The North Umpqua Trail requires a short drive to access near Lemolo Lake.
