This easy trail follows Silent Creek through stands of lodgepole pine and across marshy meadows on boardwalks. A wealth of wildflowers and berries grow along Silent Creek in the summer. Look for sickle lupine, veronica, queen’s cups, common monkeyflower, elephanthead, bog huckleberry and whortleberry—and more!

In the winter this trail can be enjoyed by cross-country skiers.

Directions:

From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 east / northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Continue on Highway 138 to milepost 83 where you drive 0.3 mile on Highway 230 before turning right on Forest Road 6592. Proceed 1 mile, turn left onto Forest Road 4795. Go 1.8 miles to trailhead. The trailhead starts at Silent Creek bridge. This trail can also be accessed from the South Shore Picnic Area and the Mt. Bailey Trailhead.

Umpqua National Forest Map reference number is L-6. Located at Township 28 south, Range 6 east, Section 20.


General Notes:
  • Mosquitoes are very active in this area in spring and early summer, so be sure to bring mosquito protection.
