Acker Divide Trailhead


Area Status: Open

Acker Divide Trailhead provides access to trails that traverse stands of old-growth timber. The trailhead provides access to Grasshopper Meadow, Grasshopper Mountain and Grasshopper Spring.

Trailhead sits at 4,720 feet of elevation. Expect snow to impact travel to this trailhead from mid to late Fall through early to mid Spring. 

Provides access to: Acker Divide Trail #1437 which enters Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness.

Current Conditions: 05/26/2023: Trailhead is accessible by car but you may encounter some snow on road. Acker Divide Trail has quite a bit of snow. The first part of the Acker Divide trail to Cripple Camp was partially logged out in 2022.

General Information

Directions:

From Canyonville, OR, turn off of southeast Main Street onto southeast 3rd Street / OR-227. Continue on OR-227 for approximately 23 miles until reaching the town of Tiller, OR. Turn left onto County Road 46 (South Umpqua Road) and continue for 5 miles. Turn right onto Forest Road 29 (Jackson Creek Road). Follow Forest Road 29 for approximately 25 miles to Forest Road 2900-550. Turn right and continue on Forest Road 2900-550 for 1 mile to the trailhead, located on the left side of the road.


Parking:

Parking available for two to four vehicles, including horse trailers.
