Ogden Ranger District

From May through September, the District is very busy place especially on the weekends. On Pineview Reservoir, visitors can indulge in water sports such as boating, swimming and fishing. Camping is also available at Pineview. Summer visitors can take a scenic drive, hike, bike, watch birds and wildlife, and ride their OHVs. Winter activities include snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and ice-fishing.

Reservations: The National Recreation Reservation Service takes reservations for most campgrounds up to 240 days in advance at 1-877-444-6777 or on the internet at www.recreation.gov. These sites can be reserved no less than 5 days in advance.
Permit Info: The Ogden Ranger District does not sell Christmas tree cutting permits.
Information Center: Anderson Cove "Beach" is an extension of Anderson Cove Campground and has sites available for day-use, as well as tent camping for one vehicle/one tent.  Reserve the pavilion or group sites at www.recreation.gov or toll-free call 1-877-444-6777.  Picnic tables, restrooms, and beach access are available there.

Pineview Reservoir
Cemetery Point boat and Anderson Cove launch facilities are managed by Utah Recreation Company information on their passes may be procured from them 801-273-1100.  ATV travel is not allowed Adjacent to Pineview Reservoir.  Port Ramp is open all year, with fees only when occupied (in summer months).  Pineview Reservoir boat slips and Annual Boat Launch passes are sold by Utah Recreatin Company call 801-273-1100

For Weber County campgrounds such as Fort Buena Ventura, North Fork or Weber Memorial campgrounds, call 801-399-8491 for information.  Forest Service campgrounds can be located online or by calling the Union Station Information Center (801-625-5306) or the Ogden Ranger District (801-625-5112).

Limited dispersed (undeveloped site) camping is allowed in some areas, if parking is feasible, although it is strongly discouraged due to the impact on soils when the ground is wet.   Dispersed camping around the South Fork campgrounds is never allowedPlease remember to PACK OUT all trash when no services are available (trash removal, water, toilets, parking).

Higher elevation roads/trails are not accessible.  Please stay off snowy secondary roads and trails to avoid resource damage until sufficient snow base is available to protect the environment, the vehicle and the recreationists.   Be careful on roads and trails during inclement weather, and always be aware that weather conditions change very quickly in mountainous areas.

OHV Road Riding

Natural resources when wet are very fragile, so please be careful and only drive or camp on dry, solid surfaces.  Off-highway vehicle users are responsible for knowing which roads and trails are open to motorized use.  Travel Plan maps, which show those roads and trails open to motorized vehicles, should be procured and are available at local Forest Service offices. All forest visitor and wilderness maps for the Intermountain Region are sold at Union Station (cash or check only), the National Forest Service store, or some are available at the USGS online store.
