Directions: Access #1: In the past, there was no public right of way for the trailhead. The trailhead starts off of Wasatch Blvd, just south of 9400 South. From Wasatch Boulevard heading south, turn left onto Bell's Canyon Road (10040 South). The road will ""T""; turn left on Stone Mountain Lane (10050 South). There is very limited parking and no overnight parking available at the trailhead. Long term parking is available at south east Dimple Dell (10010 South 3025 East). The trail crosses through private land for the first quarter to half mile up to the lower reservoir. Sandy City has secured an easement through the private land up to the reservoir. The reservoir and about 200 acres beyond (to the east) belong to Sandy City. Then you enter the National Forest. Access #2: A second trailhead has been completed for access to Bells Canyon. The trailhead is located just south of 10180 South on the east side of Wasatch Blvd. There is a lot of construction in this area, but look for a road that travels east and toward the mountains (very large boulders nearby). You will see the new trail take off up the mountain. This trail will lead you to the lower reservoir. There is a gate across the trailhead. You have to either climb over it or climb the rocks at the side of the gate. The trail starts out as a dirt and gravel road with no shade available.
