Grandeur Peak Trail #015
Leashed pets are permitted, however read the restrictions for this trail. Elevation gain of 2,299 feet. Major destinations include Grandeur Peak and Mill Creek Ridge Line. The Grandeur Peak Trail ends at the summit of Grandeur Peak. The summit of Grandeur Peak offers a view of the Salt Lake Valley and a large portion of the Wasatch Front from Neff's Canyon on the south to Francis Peak on the north. This trail is open for a great part of the winter, and can be hiked nearly year round. The trail begins at the end of the road at Church Fork Picnic Area. Parking is limited at the end of the road. Parking is not allowed in the spots for the picnic sites. Additional parking is available on Mill Creek Canyon Road. The trail follows Church Fork Creek for about 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile. The trail narrows and then you follow a few switchbacks. The trail passes through a rock field, follows parallel to the ridge line for awhile and leads straight to Grandeur Peak. It is not uncommon to see snakes on this trail. During the spring and fall, snakes tend to be out during the daytime when the sun is out. During the heat of summer, snakes hang out in the mornings and evenings when it is cooler. Snakes are easy to avoid if you are cautious and watch for them.

| Restrictions: | CLOSED to OHV travel. Dogs: Dogs are restricted from the groomed ski trail on ODD numbered calendar days during the winter. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all trail heads and developed sites including parking lots. Please pick up after your dog, your Canyon appreciates it! Other trails for dogs. Bikes: Big Water, Little Water, and the Great Western Trail are CLOSED to mountain bikes on ODD numbered calendar days. |
