Sawmill-Nebo Creek Trail #130

The lower end of the trail follows right along Nebo Creek, crossing it accasionally.  This is a narrow canyon with steep walls.  There are cottonwoods and willows along the trail.  Eventually the trail opens up into a wide meadow known as Red Rock Pastures.  The trail is difficult to follow in places, but if you stay near the creek youwill pick up the main trail again.  After Red Rock Pastures and trail enters a forested area and then enters a small opening where the trail intersects with Blackhawk Trail #084.  Here the trail turns south following Sawmill Fork.  The lower section of Sawmill Fork is narrow with some interesting erosional features.  The canyon soon opens up into a large meadow where, on the other side of the stream, the remnants of an old sawmill can be seen.  The trail then climbs through thick conifers until it eventually ends at the Summit Trail #113.

Connecting Trails:  Blackhawk Trail, Summit Trail, Beaver Dam Trail is accessible by way of Nebo Creek Road.
