Freezeout Trailhead
Area Status: Open

Freezeout Trailhead is one of the early season routes into the Hells Canyon Recreation Area and Hells Canyon Wilderness due to the low elevation of the saddle. This moderate sized trailhead accommodates trucks with stock trailers and has a stock loading ramp, hitch rails, and stock water.

General Information
Directions:From Enterprise, Oregon travel south 6 miles on Highway 82 towards Joseph; In Joseph turn left on Highway 350 and go 30 miles to Imnaha, Oregon; In Imnaha travel south on County Road 727 for about 12.5 miles to Forest Road 4230; Turn left on Forest Road 4230 and go about 3 miles to the trailhead.
Advisory: Forest Road 4230 is a narrow road with few turnouts for larger vehicles or those with trailers.
