Union Creek Boat Launch

The Union Creek Boat Launch is located on the northern shore of Phillips Lake. This popular fishing and boating site is set in an open ponderosa pine forest within walking distance of the Union Creek Campground and Union Creek Picnic and Day-use area. The site has a 2-lane ramp, large parking area for trailers, and a small snack and bait shack operated by the concessionaire.

Discounts are subject to the terms of the passes, and policies of the Concession operator. For visitors with an Interagency Senior Passes, Interagency Access Passes, Golden Age Passport or Golden Access Passport the discount fees are:

Day-use fees are posted at the Union Creek Recreation Area entrance booth.

Restrictions: General rules of use and restrictions apply for this developed recreation site. The Recreation Site Concessionaire also has rules of use posted at the site.  The gate into the recreation area is locked when not in operation by the concessionaire. State boating rules:  The Oregon State Marine Board has administrative rules for boaters on Phillips Reservoir. (ORS 250-020-0013 ) No person shall operate a motorboat in excess of a "Slow -- No Wake" speed in the following areas: Phillips Lake: (A) Within 200 feet of a boat launching ramp or designated swimming area; (B) That area known as the Union Creek Inlet, beginning at a point approximately 500 feet south of the Union Creek Boat Launching Ramp and proceeding easterly across the inlet to a point on the opposite shore as marked

General Information

Directions:

From Baker City, Oregon travel south on Highway 7 towards John Day, Oregon for about 18 miles; The campground and day-use entrance is signed on the left side of the road; Follow the signs in the Union Creek Recreation Area down through the campground to the boat launch.
