Monday Creek OHV System
The Monday Creek area of the Wayne National Forest provides some excellent opportunities for riding off-highway vehicles (OHVs). This trail system, north of Nelsonville, provides approximately 75 miles of designated trails to OHV riders, mountain bikers, and hikers. Loading ramps are available at the New Straitsville and White Oak Trailheads.

General Notes:Maps of the Monday Creek OHV Trail System can be found on our OHV Trail Maps page. Maps are also provided when you purchase a trail permit.
In the last few years, bridges have been upgraded to concrete or steel trail bridges. Additionally, vault toilets at the trailheads have been upgraded to meet accessibility requirements.
Directions:
This trail system has 8 trailheads. The New Straitsville Trailhead is located on SR 595, 2 mi. south of New Straitsville. To get to the Dorr Run OHV Area (5 trailheads), follow the signs at the two exits off US Hwy 33, SR 595 in Haydenville and the western Nelsonville exit to the roundabout. The Monday Creek Trailhead is on CR24 between Carbon Hill and Buchtel. The Long Ridge Trailhead is on SR 78, between Buchtel and Murray City.

This Trail system is designed primarily for off-highway vehicles and off-highway motorcycles but hikers are welcome. Loops of a variety of lengths offer hikers many different distances depending on the time they have available.

Fire Information | You can build a campfire as long as you have a 10 foot clearance around it and put a ring around it with rocks. Fires must be extinguished before leaving camp. No bon fires are allowed. No standing or green trees may be cut. Check the bulletin boards to ensure no fire bans are in effect. |
