Iron Ridge Campground
This newly renovated family campground is located on a ridge on the east side of Lake Vesuvius and accesses Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area facilities by a hiking trail.
The campground has a total of 32 campsites (21 RV sites and 11 tent sites). There is water available at all sites and electricity at nearly half of the sites. Electric is available at all but 11 sites (sites 23-34). The campground can accommodate large RVsWhiskey Run Trail is 0.85 miles long and connects the Lake Shore Trail and Iron Ridge Campground. This loop trail starts at the campground across from site 29, goes down to the lake, along a short segment of the Lake Shore Trail, and back up the second side the Whiskey Run Trail. The loop has 150-foot elevation change going down and back up. The trail passes abandoned charcoal pits, remnants of a whiskey still, and parts of old whiskey barrels. It is marked with white diamond markers with red dots.

General Information
Directions: Located 6.5 miles north of Ironton, Ohio, just off State Route 93. Turn on County Road 29 and follow the signs to the Recreation Area (1 mile) To reach Iron Ridge proceed past the furnace and the lake and up the hill approximately another mile and take the first road back to the left into the campground.
