Archer's Fork Loop Trail

This 14-mile loop trail may be the most scenic area on the entire Wayne National Forest. This rugged loop trail includes the Irish Run Natural Bridge, a rockshelter, and some outstanding scenery.

The trail is open to mountain bike use from mid-April through mid-December each year.

Activities

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is allowed on this scenic trail from April 15 through December 15.

Day Hiking

Though long for a day hike, this is a beautiful trail, and those who walk briskly might enjoy this scenic loop trail.

Backpacking on this outstanding trail is a treat for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Viewing Wildlife

This area is one of the most remote areas of the Forest and opportunities to view wildlife abound.

Viewing Plants

View plants from a vareity of ecosystems as you hike this trail through the rugged terrain of the hills along the Little Muskingum River. In spring you'll see wildflowers blooming and in fall you'll see beautiful fall color.

Viewing Scenery

The scenery on this trail is outstanding with a natural rock bridge at Irish Run and a rockshelter and many rock bluffs. In winter you'll also get some vistas and pass through a vareity of forest types.
