Ethan Pond Shelter

​The Ethan Pond Shelter is located at the eastern shore of the scenic Ethan Pond at the edge of the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The Shelter can be accessed via a short side trail off the the Ethan Pond Trail (Appalachain Trail). It is an 'Adirondack' style shelter with an occupancy of eight. There are also 5 tent platforms with a total capacity of 20. Water is supplied at the inlet brook. A composting privy, a dishwashing area, and bear box is provided. A caretaker is in charge during the summer months.

Reservations: For small groups (5 people or less), reservations are not accepted; first-come, first-served basis only. For groups of 6 or more, at all facilities except Hermit Lake, AMC's Group Notification System must be utilized. Information may be submitted online.
Fees: $15 per person per night during the caretaker season, Memorial Day to Columbus Day. There is no fee required outside the caretaker season.
