Spring Cave #1834

  

The Spring Cave Trail crosses the South Fork of the White River by footbridge near the South Fork Campground. The trail then travels through a stand of blue spruce, then aspen and scrub oak as it climbs toward Spring Cave. The trail makes several switchbacks before leveling out near the mouth of the cave.

Operational Hours: Spring Cave may be visited April 16 through August 14, by persons who have registered and observed decontamination procedures. It is closed August 15 - April 15.

Directions:

The Spring Cave Trail is located 29 miles east of Meeker, CO. From Meeker, take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn right (east) on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 18 miles. Turn south and Rio Blanco County Road 10 for 2 miles, jog north .25 miles, then continue east for 10 miles to the South Fork Campground and trailhead. Cross the bridge at the campground, and follow the Spring Cave Trail .6 miles to the cave.
