Little Trappers #1814

The Little Trappers Trail begins at a junction with the Carhart Trail #1815 near the point where Cabin Creek flows into Trappers Lake within Flat Tops Wilderness. The trail climbs 100 yards on a gentle slope, and the Chinese Wall becomes visible across an open meadow.
Crossing the meadow, the trail enters an area burned in the 2002 Big Fish Fire and follows Cabin Creek 1 mile to Little Trappers Lake. The trail passes the lake and climbs for 2 miles until it emerges on the Flat Tops Plateau at 11,000'. The trail crosses rolling tundra for 1 mile, then terminates at the Chinese Wall Trail #1803.

General Information
Directions:Access to the Little Trappers Trail is located 50 miles east of Meeker, CO.
From Meeker, take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn right on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 39 miles to Trappers Lake Road #205. Turn south on Trappers Lake Road #205, and continue for 10 miles to the Outlet Trailhead. Follow Carhart Trail #1815 around the east side of Trappers Lake for .75 miles to the Little Trappers Trail.
