Welcome to the iconic Maroon Bells area located near Aspen, CO.  Maroon Bells Scenic Area is a great place to visit for the day, venture out on a day hike and enjoy a picnic. If you are interested in something more challenging, visiting the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness on foot or hoof is also an option. The Maroon Bells Scenic Area is surrounded by the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, one of five areas in Colorado designated as wilderness in the original Wilderness Act of 1964. There are three developed campgrounds opportunities along Maroon Creek Road. Here is what you need to know:

Food Storage:

Storing food properly is required when camping in the developed campgrounds in the Maroon Bells area. Please seal and store food in a container inside a vehicle or in bear boxes provided at the campsite.
