Trappers Lake #1816 (Blanco)
The Trappers Lake Trail follows Fraser Creek from Trappers Lake through forest, riparian and alpine landscapes to the eastern part of the Flat Tops Wilderness. It emerges on the Flat Tops Plateau in an area with many small potholes of water. The trail heads south, crossing the headwaters of the South Fork of the White River and the west side of Shingle Peak and travels 6 miles to a popular camping area around Rim and Shepherd Lakes. The higher peaks of the Flat Tops are visible along this section of the trail. Looking down Sweetwater Creek southwest of Rim Lake, the Sawatch Range is visible to the southeast. The trail continues 5 miles from Sweetwater Creek to Indian Camp Pass. Indian Camp Pass is on the southern edge of the Flat Tops Wilderness.

General Information
Directions:Access via Trapper Lake near Meeker, CO:
Access to Trappers Lake Trail (#1816) is located 50 miles east of Meeker, CO. From Meeker, take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn right on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 39 miles to Trappers Lake Road #205. Turn south on Trappers Lake Road #205, and continue for 10 miles to the Outlet Trailhead. Follow the Carhart Trail (#1815) around the east side of Trappers Lake for two miles to the junction with Trappers Lake Trail.
Access via Indian Camp Pass near Dotsero, CO:
From Eagle, CO travel 13 miles west on I-70 to the Dotsero exit and follow the signs for Sweetwater/Burns by turning north onto Colorado River Rd. Travel for 1 3/4 mile and turn left onto Coffee Pot Road/ Forest Road 600, and stay on this road for 33 and 3/4 miles, passing Deep Lake, until you get to Indian Camp Pass and the trailhead. After you pass Deep Lake, the road will become very rough.
