Vivian Lake Trail #3662
This popular, moderately used trail is in the northwest corner of the Diamond Peak Wilderness. You pass the junctions with Mt. Yoran Trail and Diamond Peak Tie Trail within the first mile. The trail meanders past Notch Lake, several small, unnamed lakes and Ranger and Vivian Lakes.
The steep trail north of Vivian Lake traverses down a north-facing slope, providing a challenge to the day hiker. Continuing north of Vivian Lake, the trail parallels Fall Creek along a magnificent series of rapids and waterfalls, the largest of which - Fall Creek Falls - plunges over basalt cliffs more than 100 feet tall.
