Little North Santiam Trail

The trail meanders along the picturesque Little North Santiam River through young and older Douglas-Fir forest. Several cascading waterfalls, deep emerald pools and a spectacular gorge with towering rock walls can be seen along the trail. There are several rustic log footbridges along the trail.

Current Conditions: This trail is in an area impacted by the Beachie Creek and & Lionshead Fires. Before visiting areas affected by wildfire, make sure to review the 4 Steps for Safety for recreating in burned areas.

Restrictions: Special regulations are in place to help protect this area and preserve the experience for you and for future visitors.  Alcohol is prohibited at Three Pools Day Use Area and the use of marijuana on federal lands is illegal.
Closest Towns: Gates and Mill City, Oregon
Water: Water from streams should be filtered.
Passes: A valid Recreation Pass is required at Little N Santiam River, East Trailhead.

Map of Little North Santiam trailUse caution and supervise children and pets closely when traveling off of the main trail. Slippery rocks, uneven terrain, steep banks and cliffs are natural hazards that can be very dangerous.

Access from Shady Cove Campground trailhead provides an easy hike for about 2 miles.
