Pacific Crest Trailhead - Willamette Pass

This trailhead provides access for the Pacific Crest Trail at Willamette Pass. 

The segment of the trail accessed from this trailhead follows open country along the crest of the Cascade Mountains. The trail passes through common alpine vegetation of mountain hemlock, lodgepole pine, western white pine, Pacific silver fir and whitebark pine. There is very little ground vegetation some of which consists of dwarf huckleberry.

Current Conditions:

7/20/2024: Southbound temporarily closed to Emigrant Pass due to the Moss Mountain Fire.  See the Moss Mountain Closure Order and Map.pdf.

Restrictions: The trail is open to foot and horse (or other pack stock) travel only. Bicycles and motorized vehicles are not permitted. Wilderness regulations apply to all sections traversing designated wilderness areas.

Information Center: Middle Fork Ranger Station.

General Information

Directions:

From Oakridge, Oregon travel east on State Highway 58 to milepost 62.5 (just past Willamette Pass Ski Area).  

Trailhead is located on the north side of the highway.


General Notes:

The higher elevation portions of this trail may be under snow until July.
